Staten Island Physical Therapy(SIPT) is a physical therapist owned and operated company. We are committed to helping our patients return to their activities of daily living, work and the recreational activities they enjoy by providing the highest level of personalized care to treat the condition or injury.

Our facility opened in 2005, however the owners Barry Goldman and Todd Wohl have been practicing since 2002. Staten Island Physical Therapy was started because we saw the marketplace shifting from individual care to an assembly line type atmosphere, where several patients are treated simultaneously in order to offset diminishing reimbursement rates. Patients are not a number here at SIPT. We know that hands-on, one-on-one treatment by a licensed therapist are the best way to obtain optimum gains. We have flexible hours to accommodate most people’s schedules.

Barry has the belief of educating his patients and making them feel comfortable.  Barry feels “If you can heal the mind, the rest of the body will follow.”

Todd Wohl

Todd Wohl

Director of Staten Island Physical Therapy

Todd Wohl graduated from the College of Staten Island with a Masters of Physical Therapy degree in 2003.  Following graduation Todd joined the team of Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in Jersey City, NJ, where he remained till late 2004. In 2005 he and his partner Barry Goldman, combined their talents, dedication and love of their profession with the opening of Staten Island Physical Therapy. He has since concentrated on orthopedic manual therapy to treat the “root-cause” of a patient’s problem by utilizing biomechanical assessments and helping people move better.  Todd believes that patient education is the key to treatment and this is what leads to superior outcomes.   Because of Todd’s extensive background in orthopedics and manual therapy including education in a wide array of techniques and theories, he specializes in patients with all types of pain including chronic pain. His specialties also include patients who have not improved with other therapy or treatment. He has taken several continuing education courses which allow him to use a well-rounded treatment approach, focusing on manual therapy including joint/spinal manipulation and self-care education. Todd’s main interest is educating patients on how to care for themselves, and teaching them everything they need to know to maximize their function.
